New Baby

Sunday, May 14th, 2006

My friends David and Julia had their baby a few weeks ago and I celebrated the new arrival by running out and buying yarn. I’m knitting a toddler’s sweater for little Carter. Knitting infant things always seems like a bit of a waste since infants grow out of things so quickly. It’s knit in Cascade 220 at 5 sts to the inch. I’ve done the lower body in the round and the upper body flat. I think I’m going to pick up the sleeves with the yellow yarn and knit them down to the wrists.

Overdue Update

A co-worker said to me yesterday “I was looking at your blog and I like your sock slippers.” I replied “Oh, I’m glad that you were looking at my blog, because I haven’t looked at it in weeks.” D’oh.

Here are the two kids vests in Knitpicks Wool of the Andes. The project was definitely a stash builder. I’m thinking of some more sock slippers for next fall or maybe a striped vest???.

And here is the scarf I’m working on. I’m really enjoying the intarsia. It’s very intuitive.

The back isn’t too bad either. Definitely a knitter’s scarf though.
