Squares Shawl PATTERN
Any worsted weight mohair will work for this project.
MC: 2 skeins Lion Brand Imagine in Fisherman 2.5 oz. = 222 yds
CC: 1 skein Dive Mohair Kiss Ombre (variegated color) 1.75 oz. = 98 yds
Size 15 needles - one set of 5 dpn and circulars in 16 inches and 24 inches
Square block (make two)
CO 8 stitches with MC and distribute evenly onto four needles. Join making sure you don’t twist the stitches.
R1: Purl
R2: K increasing into the first and last stitch on each of the four needles
R3: Purl
R4-5: rep. 2-3 (total of 24 stitches)
R6-7: rep. 2-3 with CC
R8-15: rep 2-3 four times with MC
R16-17: rep 2-3 with CC
Repeat rows 8-17 twice more. At this point you will have completed 4 stripes of CC.
Repeat rows 2-3 twice more with MC.
Bind off.
Sew in ends and seam the two blocks together along one side. Be careful not to make the seam too loose (holes will be visible) or too tight (the shawl won’t hang correctly).
